what a Great christmas day
Christmas is about Spreading Joy to others. I stepped out knowing the Universe would put me in the right place, at the right time, to make a difference, in the lives of the people I’m supposed to meet. As I approach my destination, the fountain at the center of Naples (a wealthy community of homes around a canal in Southern California, Los Angles), I sit down to reflect and meditate with the fleeting sunlight shinning on my face. Sunset is soon approaching. As I take a deep breath and open my eyes, I see a family of 5, a grandma, two parents, a 3 year old and a 1 year old. They have had a stranger nice enough to volunteer to take a photo of them. I notice the 1 year old in arms of the father looking at me and my ukulele. I instantly get up and play music as I walk behind the photographer, with the attention of the child. It allowed him to take pictures with the child facing the camera.
As they finish up and as I head back to my bench to sit down, they compliment the ukulele. I felt inclined to tell them of a beautiful fact about the instrument, as it is the instrument of Peace. I then pick up my ukulele and start finger picking the strings. To my surprise, I started singing “Can’t Stop Falling in Love with You” instead of the usual “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
As I finish, and as open my eyes, and look up, I noticed I had an audience sitting down and listening to me. They clapped. We exchanged heart warming pleasantries. I am then excited to give them the Gift of Art. I tell them that the Universe wanted us to meet. It turns out, in their eyes, I showed up at the right place at the right time. I sang their wedding song so I was instantly connected to them after grabbing the attention of their child. I then gave them Passi0n, which is an Art piece reminding you to “Do What Makes Your Soul Happy”. It happens that the Father has recently lost his job and now figuring out how the family is going to reposition and what path to pursue. The message I gave them was powerful because they were on the dilemma to either chase what is practical, or to pursue his dreams. I was allowed the honor, by the Gods, to give this family the courage and momentum to follow a path that would always come out more fulfilling. I hope to one day hear from them again.
I will continue to be grateful for the these moments. Even though these moments were meant for others, I still find fulfilment in their wins. And I find solace that my existence has yet helped another individual along my journey. I will continue to secure these wins, no matter how much I suffer, until my dying breath.
